The meeting on ‘CLIMSA Launch event’ organised and hosted by OACPS will be held on 30 March 2021 virtually on Zoom.
The main objective of the launch event is to inform all stakeholders in the ACP regions on the signed Financing Agreement between OACPS Secretariat with European Union to implement the Intra-ACP Climate Services and related applications programme.
The specific objectives are to:
• Spread awareness of the public, the media and the institution active in the area of climate services on the objectives of the programme and its implementation status;
• raise the stakeholder engagement level for the successful implementation; and
• connect and share knowledge on the climate services challenges and scaled up solutions.
Expected Outcomes:
• The awareness about the programme is raised;
• The expected impact of programme from the socio/economic perspectives, presented by the regional organisations; and
• Opportunities for collaboration with other relevant initiatives are explored.
The call for action of this event is the involvement of parties to take advantage of this investment to build capacity of OACPS countries and increases their ability to adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change for sustainable development.
